Interested in taking a lesson? You've come to the right place.  The staff at Quail Ridge offers lessons to all ages and abilities, covering all aspects of the golf swing. 

PGA Head Golf Professional Gary Smithson 

Gary is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management program at Ferris State University and a member of the PGA of America since 1995. He has served on the Michigan Section PGA Board of Directors as Section Tournament Chairman as well as President of the Western Chapter PGA. In addition, Gary has had several playing accomplishments in the Michigan Section PGA and continues to compete each year in the Michigan Open, Michigan Senior Open, Michigan Section PGA Championship. His work experience includes Congressional Country Club, Tournament Players Club Sawgrass,Thousand Oaks Golf Club, and most recently The Mines Golf Club. Gary currently resides in Grand Rapids with his wife Amy and two children Emily and Bradley.

PGA Teaching Professional John Seltzer III

John has been a PGA member since 2007, having been the Head Golf Professional at The Polo Fields Golf and Country Club, Director of Golf at Oak Pointe Country Club and most recently the Director of Golf at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Michigan.  These positions have allowed John to have extensive experience in teaching beginners, juniors (high school and college players) and women/men of all abilities.  As a player, John is a two-time winner of the Michigan PGA Match Play, a winner of the 2017 Michigan PGA, being named the Western PGA player of the year on three occasions, along with other state and national PGA events.  The insight he has gained through his years of coaching players of all levels, along with his competitive background, has given him a practical approach to player improvement.  johnseltzer1@gmail.com

Adult Coaching Options:
$60.00 – 30 minutes
$85.00 – 60 minutes 
$150.00 – 90 minutes 
 
3 lesson option - $245.00 (must pre-pay for all lessons)
5 lesson option - $400.00 (must pre-pay for all lessons)
 
Season long coaching option - $2400 ( 8 months, payable over 3 installments)
This eight month program is for those players that are looking for more than just the traditional coaching options.  The season long coaching program is a comprehensive program that looks at a players entire game, equipment and mental approach.  This program is a good fit for the type of player that plays in competitive events and is looking for ways to improve his or her entire game.  Here is what comes with the season long coaching option:
  • Three, 60 minute lessons per month
  • On course coaching
  • Thorough equipment analysis and fitting
  • 24/7 access by email, phone calls, videos, etc.
  • A detailed practice plan for when you are practicing on your own
  • A specific player plan on how to prepare for competitive events

Junior Coaching Options: 17 and under
$50.00 – 30 minutes
$70.00 – 60 minutes
$120.00 – 90 minutes
 
3 lesson option - $195.00 (must pre-pay for all lessons)
5 lesson option - $325.00 (must pre-pay for all lessons)
